ABOUT AERRECU

Intentional architecture from the Riviera Maya.

Who we are

AERRECU is a Mexican architecture studio founded by architect Eduardo Leñero. We design and build homes, apartments and residential developments, mainly in Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Tulum and Cancún.

We believe a house is not invented: it is the answer to a question hidden in the site, in the climate and, above all, in the lives of the people who will live there. Our job is to find that question and answer it precisely.

How we think

Listening first

Every project begins with a conversation. Before drawing, we understand how you live, what you need and what you want to feel in your home.

Honest materials

Exposed concrete, stone, wood, chukum. We choose materials for how they feel and how they age, not for trends.

Designed for the climate

Cross ventilation, shade, courtyards and respect for existing vegetation. Architecture that works in the tropics with little maintenance.

Our track record

Since 2019 we have completed residential projects in Quintana Roo and Jalisco: homes such as Casa Tucán in Tulum and Casa VG in Puerto Morelos, apartment buildings such as Bahia 50 in Playa del Carmen, and developments for sale such as K’aanil Kaj. We also explore speculative design, with projects such as Casa Astros.

Eduardo Leñero, architect

Founder and director of AERRECU. His interest in architecture began before he studied it, in front of a window in a house in Tapalpa that taught him a space can stay in your memory forever.

Since then, his work has pursued the same goal: designing places that respond to the people who live in them. He writes about this in his architecture chronicles.
